Surface Water - Groundwater Interactions in the Lower Athabasca Region

The Environment & Water business unit of SNC-Lavalin Inc. was retained by CEMA to conduct a field reconnaissance study in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and the Lower Athabasca Region to identify potential surface water-groundwater (SW-GW) interaction locations. This comprises Phase 2 of the study. Phase 1, completed by SNC-Lavalin in the late summer and fall of 2012, consisted of identifying potential SW-GW sites by interviewing 62 informants from First Nations and Métis groups located throughout the LAR.
