Protocol for Establishment and Updating of a Modelling Emission Inventory Database and Protocol for Application of Models in the Implementation of Emissions Management Frameworks

The objectives of this project were to: 1) Develop a protocol for the development, establishment, and updating of the emissions inventories required to estimate acid deposition input required by the MAGIC model in the Stage 3 implementation of the ADMF and to assess ozone concentrations relative to the human health based thresholds defined in the Ozone Management Framework; 2) Apply the protocol and prepare an emission inventory that includes historical, baseline, and future regional air contaminant emissions; 3) Develop a protocol for a standardized approach to the ADMF application of the CALMET/CALPUFF model that includes certain set user options, which should include model performance and updating and reviewing model inputs and/or options; and 4) Provide recommendations on the best dispersion, air quality/ambient concentration and deposition model for use for each of the ADMF, O MF, ACMF and a possible future regional nitrogen critical loads framework.
