Paleaolimnological Study of Selected Lakes in the Wood Buffalo Region Involving Collection and Analysis of Surfact, Bottom and Full Core Lake Sediment Samples

The aim of the work reported here is to determine whether a suitable diatom-pH transfer function may be derived from present day lake surface sediments and water chemistry, i.e. to ascertain whether there are strong relationships between diatom communities currently present in the regions lakes and lake water chemistry, across the major environmental gradients found there.
